Membership

Grade Point Average

Since EPT is an honorary society, it has foundations based on scholastic excellence. The minimum G.P.A.requirements for membership are two fold as listed below:

• Overall G.P.A.: Must be 2.75 or above.
• Within the Industrial Technology Major: Must be 3.00 or above.

Units

There are only one criteria of categories of college credits which are evaluated for membership purposes. The units can be from transfer credits from another college or credits acquired from here at EKU. Transfer units are evaluated on the same scale as Technology Department courses.

• Industrial Technology units: Initiates need a minimum of 16 units within the Department of Industrial Technology.

Major

Prospective initiates need to have any Technology program declared as their major prior to applying for EPT membership. Additionally, sixteen units within the major of Industrial Technology must be successfully completed before evaluation for membership can be initiated by the trustee.

Presentation

A formal presentation is expected as part of the initiation ceremony. The subject is focussed on any of the many fields within Industrial Technology. A dress coat and tie, or appropriate formal attire, are part of the dress code. After the presentation is completed, the initiates go through the formal induction ceremony.
