When considering a college such as EKU, many students consider what that school can offer them in the area of growth, development and exposure to the field of their future career goals. Here at EKU, majors in fields relating to the graphics, printing, publishing, and packaging industry have a tremendous opportunity to develop skills and obtain hands on experience with "real world" projects. Projects such as screen printing t-shirts, homecoming souvenier glasses, offset printing brochures and flyers, bookmarks, notepads, etc. All these projects and the equipment are available to promote and advance members of The Graphic Arts Society. The Graphic Arts Society is "the club" for the individual who wants to be well rounded in the industry and hone some fun trade skills.
As for the fruits of the Graphic Arts Society's labors, well lets just say trips to Charlotte, NC, St. Louis, MO and Indianapolis, IN are just a few of the additional benefits and perks members can participate in courtesy of their club. Most trips are to influential industry trade shows where students have the opportunity to experience first hand the new technology, as well as, networking with future employers and corporations important to their field.
Our members promote, design, produce, market, sell, and actively find new opportunities to advance our club. We work with some of the best trained and well connected faculty to the industry. If you are majoring in the graphics industry at EKU, this is a club you want to be an active member with. As the President of the Graphic Arts Society, I'd have to say it is a win/win situation.
